The section measures the Turkish society's personal perception of secularism through some statements:

• Science and logic guide my important decisions in life.
• When making an important decision in my daily life, I consult a religious leader or religious sources.
• We should listen to religion, not science, to solve our problems in the world.
• Sects and communities can play important roles in education, commerce and social life.
• The social, economic, political and legal order of the state should be completely independent of religious rules.
• The principle of secularism must be preserved, even if this entails restricting some personal freedoms.
